ED inquiry resumes in liquor policy scam; Rahul will meet CM’s family
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the ED from the CM’s residence on the evening of March 21 in the liquor policy case. The ED team came to serve him the 10th summons. After the arrest, Kejriwal was taken to the ED office. A team of doctors from RML Hospital conducted his medical.
The ED team has started questioning Kejriwal again. ED is questioning him on the basis of witness statements. A list has been made for this. According to reports, they are not cooperating in the interrogation.
Here, Rahul Gandhi can visit CM Kejriwal’s house to meet his family. Kejriwal spent his night in ED lockup. AAP will also protest against Kejriwal’s arrest today.
Kejriwal will be produced in the High Court today. The medical of Delhi CM can be done even before the hearing. ED will try to get Kejriwal’s remand. Delhi Minister Atishi said that Kejriwal will remain the CM of Delhi. Will run the government from jail.
Kejriwal’s legal team appealed to the Supreme Court and demanded an immediate hearing. In this case, BRS leader K. Kavita, who is already in the custody of ED, has challenged his arrest in the SC. His petition is also to be heard today.
This is how the events of Kejriwal’s arrest went
On Thursday, March 21 at 2.30 pm, the High Court rejected the petition to stay the arrest of the Delhi CM. Kejriwal had sought assurance from the court that he would not be arrested if he went to the ED office for questioning. The court clarified that Kejriwal will have to appear before the ED, there is no stay on his arrest.
At 7 pm, the ED team reached Kejriwal’s house (CM House) with the 10th summons and search warrant.
The investigating agency interrogated Arvind Kejriwal for two hours. After this, he was arrested at 9 pm. Meanwhile, heavy police force was deployed outside the CM residence. Several RAF teams were present.
Around 11:50 PM, the ED team took Arvind Kejriwal to the ED office by car.
Kejriwal was brought to the ED headquarters at 11.50 pm.
After noon, a team of doctors from RML Hospital reached the ED office for a medical examination of Kejriwal.
Arvind Kejriwal spent the night in the lockup of the ED office, where he was given medicines and a blanket.
