Voting for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections to be held in the country in seven phases will be held today i.e. on April 19. In the first phase, 16 crore 63 lakh voters out of total 97 crore voters of the country will exercise their right by casting their votes for 102 Lok Sabha seats in 21 states. For this, the Election Commission of India has made preparations on a large scale. Of these 102 seats, 73 are reserved for General, 11 for ST and 18 for SC. 1625 candidates have contested the elections on these seats. Whose political fate will be captured in EVM today. There will be 35.67 lakh such new voters in the first phase. Who will exercise their rights for the first time when they turn 18. In order to conduct peaceful voting, a large number of para military forces along with adequate number of state police have been deployed for security.
In Which 21 States Will Votes be Cast Today?
Among these, voting will be held today on all 39 Lok Sabha seats of Tamil Nadu and all five Lok Sabha seats of Uttarakhand. Whereas out of 40 seats in Bihar, four are Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada and Jamui. Out of 29 seats in Madhya Pradesh, six seats are Sidhi, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat and Chhindwara. Ganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu Sikar, Jaipur Rural, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Karauli-Dholpur, Dausa and Nagaur in 12 out of 25 seats of Rajasthan. Of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh, eight are Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Nagina, Moradabad, Rampur and Pilibhit. Out of 42 seats in West Bengal, voting will be held for three seats – Cooch Behar, Alipur Duars and Jalpaiguri Lok Sabha seats. Apart from these, Puducherry 1, Mizoram 1, Meghalaya 2, Manipur 2, Maharashtra 5, Arunachal Pradesh 2, Assam 5, Bihar 4, Chhattisgarh 1, Jammu and Kashmir 1, Lakshadweep 1, Sikkim 1, Tripura 1, Nagaland 1 and Andaman Nicobar. Voting will be cast for one seat.
Women Deployed at Five Thousand Polling Stations
Out of 1 lakh 87 thousand polling stations, more than five thousand polling stations have been made like this. In which all the staff will be women. In this, not only the voting inside the polling stations but all the security personnel engaged in the security of the stations will also be women. Similarly, more than one thousand polling stations have been built. Where the entire staff has been appointed disabled. Keeping in mind the convenience of voters of all ages, all the polling stations have been built on the ground floor. Adequate seats have been arranged for voters to sit at all polling stations. There will be arrangements for tents and drinking water to protect from the heat. Wheel chairs will also be available everywhere, there will be complete electricity arrangements. Model polling stations have been made on all 102 seats.
Voting From 7 am to 6 pm
Actually, the voting time has been kept from 7 am to 6 pm. But there are many such areas also. Where the last date for voting varies. For example, on some assembly seats falling under these Lok Sabha or some Lok Sabha seats, votes can be cast only from 7 am to 3 pm. So in some places votes can be cast only till 4 and 5 pm. There is one such seat in Lakshadweep. Where voting will take place from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm. Of the 11 Lok Sabha seats in Chhattisgarh, elections will be held today only on one Bastar seat. In this, votes can be cast at most of the polling stations from 7 am to 3 pm and at some only till 5 pm. The Commission says that the areas are in the highly sensitive list. Keeping security in mind, the polling pattern has been slightly changed. But this does not mean that all the voters will not be able to cast their votes. The number of voters who will enter the polling station before the end of time. All of them will be cast their votes, no matter what the time.
